IT Specialist

MTSA is seeking a subject-matter-expert to serve as our in-house IT Specialist. The successful candidate will serve two functions within the organization. First, he or she must coordinate between the organization and external vendors and contractors about IT-related infrastructure and development. Second, the IT Specialist will advise, develop, and implement solutions for potential IT problems, and identify areas of deficiency in an effort to bolster organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demand
  • Assist with managing the daily operations of the IT department
  • Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency and enhance workflow
  • Coordinate the needs of in-house IT personnel with vendors and contractors
  • Protect customer data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage and transfer, and other necessary means
  • Assist with the installation of new hardware and software and help train employees on its use
  • Offer suggestions for possible upgrades and changes within the IT department.

Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Industry certifications and memberships a plus
  • Excellent IT, communication, leadership and management skills
  • Proven track record of maintaining IT structural integrity
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of SQL, CAMS database, Cisco communication systems, and Microsoft Server and Office Suite applications.

Instructional Technology Assistant

The Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia (MTSA) is searching for qualified candidates for Instructional Technology Assistant. This position is responsible for infusing technology into the school’s programs and support engaging curriculum delivery in the classroom and online. The position will work closely with Director of Institutional Effectiveness to assess needs, revise and update classroom technology, train faculty, and support implementation of active learning strategies in the classroom. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of adult learning theory and desire to work in a higher education environment. Daily interaction with faculty and students is expected including support with coursework development utilizing computerized testing, PowerPoint presentation with audience response, online Learning Management System, and an iPad based campus.

Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited post-secondary institution in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Adult Learning or related subjects in Higher Education. Experience will be taken into consideration. Competitive salary, excellent benefits.
