MTSA Offers Advanced Cadaveric Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia Workshop

“An Advanced Cadaveric Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia Workshop will be offered June 1, 2014 as a follow-up to the recently offered “Basic Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia Workshop”introductory course,” said Course Instructor and MTSA Director of Collaborative Learning Patrick Moss (‘98) CRNA, MS, APN.
Moss says that participants in the Advanced Workshop will be introduced to transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks which are instrumental in controlling acute pain associated with a variety of abdominal surgeries as well as the fascia iliaca compartmental block, adductor canal approach to the saphenous nerve, obturator nerve block, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve block, and the paravertebral nerve block. Cadavers will be utilized for needling, administration of block medium, and catheter insertions.
Participants are encouraged to be fluent in Basic Ultrasound-Guided techniques (minimum 50 Ultrasound-Guided anesthetics performed) for the Advanced Course. The cost is $795.
