MTSA to host annual fundraising gala

Proceeds from May 17 event will fund mission initiatives locally, in Haiti, Guyana

MTSA announced its 5th annual Mission & Awards Gala presented by Anesthesia Medical Group will be held Thursday, May 17, at the Westin Nashville. Continuing the tradition from previous years’ events, proceeds from the 2018 Gala will benefit MTSA’s mission initiatives, including efforts in Haiti and Guyana planned for later this year.

Emceed by Fox 17 Special Projects Reporter Dennis Ferrier, the evening will include a reception, dinner, award ceremony and entertainment featuring singer-songwriters Keelan Donovan and Claire Guerreso with an acoustic performance. The event is open to all including alumni, faculty, students, physicians, medical groups, corporations and individuals.

Four awards will be presented as nominated by MTSA alumni and community friends to the following awardees:

  • Nevin Downs, MD Leadership Award: Brent Dunworth, DNP, MBA, CRNA
  • Mary Elizabeth “Ikey” DeVasher Alumni Distinguished Service Award: Stace D. Dollar, MS, CRNA
  • Mission & Heritage Award: Angel Dawn Mangum, MS, CRNA
  • Clinical Excellence Award: Juanita Turnipseed, MSN, CRNA

New this year are silent auction items such as vacation condos in Aspen and Maui, gift certificates to local restaurants, hotel stays and many other items.
