Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) Workshop
The PoCUS Workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding and practical skills in essential point-of-care ultrasound studies for the assessment and development of a perioperative anesthetic plan. The immersive hybrid course includes eight hours of didactic lectures paired with four hours of hands-on instruction. Participants will gain practical experience through live-model scanning sessions covering:
- Ultrasound assessment of gastric contents
- Peripheral vascular access
- Proper endotracheal tube placement
- Location of the cricothyroid membrane
- Lung ultrasound
- Ultrasound assessment of intracranial pressure
- Hemodynamic status evaluation
