Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia now offers online courses for point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS). Below is more information about pre-approved, Class A AANA continuing education (CE) credit opportunities provided in an online, independent study format. PoCUS Independent Study Module 1: Transthoracic Echo and the FATE Assessment

Transthoracic Echo and the FATE Assessment is designed to assist the CRNAs in performing and interpreting basic transthoracic echocardiography views as performed for the Focused Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography (FATE) exam. Additional learning includes common pathologies such as pericardial effusion and hypovolemia.

PoCUS Independent Study Module 2: Utility of FATE and Basic Perioperative TEE

Utility of FATE and Basic Perioperative TEE is designed to introduce CRNAs to the use of perioperative echocardiography for assessment, monitoring and rescue applications.

Volume Assessment and Focused Assessed Sonography for Trauma (FAST) is designed to assist CRNAs in performing and interpreting ultrasound views used to assess for free fluid around the heart and other organs as well as evaluate volume status.
