Advanced Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) Workshop

Advanced and basic Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) training using state-of-the-art Heartworks simulators is provided during these hands-on workshops for CRNAs.

Content includes basic image acquisition through advanced imaging and quantitative assessment. Twenty pathologies including aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, biventricular dysfunction and cardiac tamponade are featured along with interventional use for transcatheter procedures. All participants will perform basic and comprehensive TEE, including image acquisition, cardiac structure identification and pathology recognition.

In addition each participant will be enrolled in a free 12 chapter TEE course offered by Heartworks eLearn prior to attending the workshop. Online videos and materials will also be made available immediately prior to the workshop.

Topics for this workshop include basic utility and hemodynamic assessment, use of TEE for cardiac and noncardiac surgery and use of TEE for transcatheter and electrophysiology procedures. Faculty for the daylong (7 AM-5:30 PM) workshop include John Shields, DNP, CRNA and Russell Gentry, DNAP, CRNA.
