This interactive session explores targeted approaches to shoulder analgesia beyond the brachial plexus. Through focused anatomy review and real-time ultrasound demonstration, participants will learn how to identify and block the axillary circumflex and suprascapular nerves to support effective, opioid-sparing perioperative pain management.

Objectives:

  • Describe the anatomical course and clinical significance of the axillary circumflex and suprascapular nerves in shoulder analgesia.
  • Demonstrate the ultrasound-guided technique for performing the axillary circumflex and suprascapular nerve blocks, including key landmarks, transducer positioning, needling technique, and local anesthetic dosing considerations.
