Instructions for receiving financial assistance.

Congratulations on being admitted to MTSA’s DNAP Practice Doctorate Class of 2023!

The Financial Aid Office is committed to supporting your educational goals by providing information and access to financial resources during your three-year program. If you are interested in receiving financial assistance, please follow the instructions in the steps found below and watch for deadlines.

Important Financial Aid Steps – New Student Checklist

3. Complete the 20-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Or you may complete the FAFSA using the FSA MyStudentAid mobile app.

Please note: Students will not be asked to pay a fee to complete the FAFSA.

  • Must complete 2020-2021 FAFSA prior to being awarded federal loans.
  • Complete FAFSA using 2018 tax return information. MTSA’s school code is 007783. You can select to use the Data Retrieval Tool, within the FAFSA application, to move your income tax information into the FAFSA.

4. Schedule your mandatory financial aid orientation

Please schedule a phone or online Teams appointment, your choice, as soon as possible, and by November 5, 2020, with the Financial Aid Office by emailing finaid@mtsa.edu. Hours to schedule an appointment are Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Schedule about 30 minutes for your session.

5. Prepare a monthly budget to use in calculating your need for financial assistance for your 2021 year. You may print this budget worksheet, or you can find budget worksheets online that may work better for your situation:

https://elmselect.com Type in MTSA, click Next and View Loans, to view the lenders MTSA students have used most frequently. Select a lender of your choice (MTSA has no preferred lender list or arrangement).


9. EFT Authorization Agreement – 

a. You will complete your EFT Authorization by logging on to the CAMS student portal and completing the form with your bank information and e-signing. The completion of this form will ensure your credit balances are sent to the bank account of your choice. MTSA will not be printing refund checks. MTSA does not pull funds from your account without an official authorization. MTSA will perform a prenote test on your bank account and will need at least two weeks to perform this before funds can be transferred.

b. If you need to update your bank account information with the Financial Aid Office, please link here  MTSA Authorization Agreement for Electronic Funds Transfer to complete a new EFT Authorization.  Upload securely on our website. Go here: https://mtsa.edu/about/upload-forms/  Choose recipient – Jennifer Speer in Financial Aid > Type in your first and last name > upload your form. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THE EFT AUTHORIZATION.

 

10. Financial Aid Resources – Print out for your records

 

Deadlines:

  • Complete your 2020-21 FAFSA as soon as possible – fafsa.gov
  • Complete your financial aid orientation by 11/5/2020
  • Confirm your awards by emailing finaid@mtsa.edu prior to 11/30/2020
  • Log on to CAMS and complete your EFT Authorization by December 1
  • Complete your 2021-22 FAFSA by June 30, 2021
